BKG sweaters - the forever favorites!

Just realized that we haven't posted anything about our BKG sweaters.  Always favorites, these 100% cotton basics have a very loyal following of customers.  They come in two sizes.  There is a cropped mini-fit - which isn't really so mini - it's designed to be a boxy, casual style.  The other is a little wider in the body and a bit longer.  It will generally hit around the top of your leg.  Both the mini-fit and the "BKG" fit come in lots of great solid colors.  They can be machine washed and dried and will be the basic that you are always reaching for in your closet.  AND they're MADE in the USA!

We love all these fun, fun gifts, all so appropriate in the year of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics...the "Keep Calm and Carry On" coffee mugs, water bottles, tote bags, playing cards and bandaids (or sticking plasters as they are called in England) have been hugely popular items in the store.  Most of the items come with a little hangtag with some of the historical info about the phrase.  A customer has shared a link with me that goes even farther...it shows Barter's Books, the bookstore where a forgotten, vintage WWII poster was found.    Thanks, Paul!

Leland Wine and Food Fest Posters online

The new 2012 Leland Wine and Food Fest posters are now available online.  This year, a painting  was chosen commemorating our champion cottonwood tree.  After years of efforts to save our landmark tree, it was determined that it needed to be cut down.  Right now, there is a giant stump and debate about what should be done with it.  But we all love this Greg Sobran painting that shows the tree in it's reigning glory.  Every family that has visited Leland in the past has photos of their kids linking hands to try reaching around the huge girth of the trunk.
